Johnathan L. Meyer was
born in Albany, Missouri and raised by his parents, Lynn E. Meyer,
C.P.A. (deceased) and Iris Jean Meyer on a farm four (4) miles south of
New Hampton, Missouri. He is a graduate of South Harrison High School
and attended College at Northwest Missouri State University where he
received a Bachelor of Science Degree Magna Cum Laude in Accounting. Johnathan attended Law School at the University of Missouri at Kansas
City - School of Law where on an accelerated track he obtained a Juris
Doctor in Law and a Masters of Law (L.L.M.) in Taxation.
Johnathan spent nearly
five (5) years working as a Law Clerk and Associate Attorney with the
firm Pearman & Galamba, L.C. in Kansas City, Missouri and Overland
Park, Kansas. His areas of practice while with this firm included:
Domestic Relations, Contracts, Business Organizations, Tax Planning and
Estate Planning. Due to the smaller size of the firm, he was
able to gain valuable trial experience beginning very early in his
legal career.
In December, 2001, Johnathan relocated to Northern California where he served a managerial
role in a national sales and marketing firm that helped individuals and
families purchase and begin home-based screen printing and advertising
specialty businesses. In March, 2003, he relocated to Flagstaff,
Arizona to become the Regional Director and In-House Counsel for
BlueSky Personal Development, L.L.C., a company with the primary
objective of owning and operating Sylvan Learning Centers in Flagstaff,
Arizona and Prescott, Arizona.
Johnathan began commuting between Arizona and Bethany to open his practice in March, 2006. He was married to Erin E. Meyer on July 4, 2006 in Prescott, Arizona and made the permanent move to Missouri with Erin and their son Sebastian later that month. Their daughter, Jocelyn, was born in August, 2007 and the latest addition to the family, their son Tynan, was born in December, 2008.
Having spent his
childhood and young adult life in Rural Missouri and having the benefit
of practical experience in metropolitan and rural business markets, Johnathan L. Meyer brings the ability to offer counsel in areas of a complex nature
while understanding the trials, tribulations and benefits of living in
a rural community.
